We have some very important things to communicate so please read through this letter in its entirety.

Tough Decisions

The board and staff at Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington have been meeting together to discuss the recent social and economic events. We have had to make some very difficult decisions and would like to communicate these with you.

Because of the recent mandates surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to come to the realization that it will no longer be possible to hold our physical Family Discipleship and Homeschool Spring Conference at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, WA. With the many prohibitions and other statewide closures it seemed very unlikely that we would be permitted to hold our physical conference in April.  We could have continued with the planning in hopes that we could still put on the Spring Conference, but every week that passed would have only added to the overall negative impacts of not hosting the physical event.

Although this is very disappointing, we are trusting the Lord in all of this and ask that you pray along with us for God to show Himself faithful in a mighty way over the next few weeks and months!

Exciting News

In the midst of great challenges, God often opens great opportunities! We are very excited to announce that we will be offering an amazing alternative to the physical conference!  We have partnered with Homeschool Summits to bring you an amazing lineup of wonderful speakers presented at multiple online events. Best of all, this can take place from the safety and comfort of your own home!  We are still working out the details and logistics for these events, but we are thrilled about the possibilities.  In this time of uncertainty and social changes, we hope these events will give you and your family much hope, encouragement and strength.  We will have details about the event and how to register for it very soon.  If you have already registered for the Spring Conference you will be receiving a separate email regarding your next steps and what your options will be. If you haven’t registered for the Spring Conference, look for the upcoming email with details on how to register for the online events and tell all your friends about it as well!

Opportunities

We are sure many of you are aware of the recent legislative activities that are directly impacting families in Washington State. With last year’s vaccination related bill and the comprehensive sex ed bills, both last year and this year, we have seen a large number of families turning to home education. This is very exciting for us as an organization and for the homeschooling community. It has caused us to evaluate some of our programs and think through some new projects that would meet the needs of these families who are new to homeschooling.

We saw the number of parents enrolling in our Parent Qualifying Course more than double last year and this year’s enrollment levels will most likely be even higher.  We believe parents are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of the government schools and are making the decision to remove their precious children from that environment.  But this leaves many of them wondering “what now?” We have answered many emails and phone calls over the last year from parents who had made the decision to homeschool but really had no idea where to start or what the next step should be.

Christian Heritage is the authority on homeschooling in Washington State and we have a heartfelt desire to meet these families’ needs in this time of uncertainty!  We see this as a huge opportunity to provide education, practical How-To’s and hope for families new to homeschooling. We have plans to provide resources and courses specifically designed to help and encourage those who are just starting out on their home education journey.

We pray that as we minister to families across Washington and the Pacific NW we can cast a clear and biblical vision for home education and family discipleship! Please join with us.

Encouragement

We want to encourage you to stand firm in the Lord, take courage and rest in the sovereign grace of our loving and merciful God.  Though the times seem uncertain, we need not fear what the world fears because we serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who cares for all those who are His!  We do not live as those with no hope but look forward with expectation to the Glory to come.

Psalm 34
(New King James Version)
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God

Listen Here

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
