After becoming a believer during university studies and then receiving a Master of Divinity degree at Southwestern Theological Seminary, Paul Washer moved to Peru. He founded the HeartCry Missionary Society in order to support Peruvian church planters, but it now supports indigenous missionaries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Latin America. Paul serves with the HeartCry Missionary Society. He and his wife, Charo, have three children: Ian, Evan, and Rowan.
Paul Washer will lead us through 2 Timothy 3:16 and Deuteronomy 6 as the foundational texts on which we set our marriage and cultivate our children’s conversion and sanctification.
He will help us understand that our primary goal as parents must be for our children to understand and build their lives upon the gospel (conversion).
He will show us how to demonstrate to our children all of the ways in which the gospel transforms our lives and actions, especially with regard to personal relationships, grace, and mercy (sanctification).
He will help us learn how we can create and cultivate relationships with our children, both collectively and individually.
And he will help us see that the relationship between a husband and wife is the example, whether good or bad, for all relationships in our homes: Parent to child. Child to parent. Sibling to sibling.
