The phone rings and the voice on the other end of the line says, “I just moved to your state and I am new to homeschooling, can you help me?” I talk with a homeschool family and they share that something has gone wrong – the lives of some of their children are in shambles. I listen to a message of a well-known speaker and hear more horror stories of families who are desperately in need of help. As I drive the streets of my city, I see countless faces of young people who have hopelessness, aimlessness, boredom and despair written heavily on their faces. Even in a quick trip in and out of the grocery store, it is rare when I do not encounter a frustrated parent who likely is internally groping for answers about parenting and perhaps life.
These scenarios are real and are often repeated.
So what is the answer? Better asked – Who is the answer? Yes – God! He is the all-powerful, almighty, all-wise, holy, faithful, merciful, infinite God who miraculously reaches into the humble heart and brings hope, forgiveness, cleansing, and deliverance. It is the vision and mission of Christian Heritage to invest in the lives of these families with the life-changing truths of God’s Word.
I praise God for what He did in 2012 through the ministry of Christian Heritage. Many times He demonstrated His supernatural work in families by showing them that His ways are perfect. Christian Heritage continues to keep the bar high in promoting Godly Family Home-Based Discipleship.
What a thrill it was to have an attendance increase of 47% at our last conference.
What encouragement it was to rub shoulders with nearly 3500 like-minded people and be confronted with new ideas that help sanctify us further as we walk with Jesus. There were messages of hope but also messages of conviction that all is not okay on the home front. What we see all around us is syncretism, the merging of the sacred and the secular, and this always weakens the church, resulting in one big ball of confusion. We are to be salt and light – not pepper and dark.
In faith, the Christian Heritage board has purposed to deepen and expand their borders in 2013. The strategic plan is to add new events to include reaching out to families who have never heard about or considered homeschooling in the sense of Home-Based Discipleship. We are praying that the launching of the new website, webinars, Pastor’s Luncheon, Regional Homeschool Nuts & Bolts Seminars and the new & inspiring conference speakers will “build up” the existing Christian Heritage families and will bring many new families under the teaching of God’s plan for the family.
There is a way where YOU can help make this happen! Become a Christian Heritage Ambassador Family by bringing a family to the conference who has never attended a Christian Heritage Family Discipleship & Homeschooling Conference. You and your guests will both receive a 40% registration discount.
2013 is shaping up to be an interesting year. We pray you stay the course and take ground as we advance together in the battle to strengthen families, Christ’s church and America in these crucial times.
“And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, ‘Let us rise up and build.’ Then they set their hands to this good work.”
– Nehemiah 2:18
