Attending the Christian Heritage Marriage Retreat, What a powerful experience!
For our first Marriage Retreat, at first we arrived uncertain and maybe a little pessimistic about attending a marriage retreat. We always sort of thought marriage retreats were for “marriages in trouble”. But after we read the invitation, a little spark of excitement was ignited. The thought of attending a “God Centered” marriage retreat began to grow, after all who does not need a little encouragement and maybe a few pointers along the way?
After traveling to the quaint little Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA to attend our first Christian Heritage Marriage Retreat back in 2017, we were hooked and have endeavored to return each year since then. Not only did we look forward to the scenery, shopping, and dining experiences, we especially looked forward to the marriage retreat itself each year, as we have found it to be God Glorifying, Truth Bearing, and full of thought-provoking encouragement and a time of strengthening our convictions along with being sprinkled with correction and instruction in righteousness.
It has become a very special time for the two of us to relax and contemplate the many questions and wonders of our Gracious God and His will for us. Also just enjoying time together, uninterrupted by life, and simply soaking up the awareness of God’s Grace and His Holy Spirit leading us along. Each presenter(s) has always started at the beginning, the foundation, Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, for without Him, our efforts are fruitless.
Let us now say, that little spark is now a fervent flame! Fueled by the Truth of God’s word and the Righteousness of Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.
